trinsix fileserver

The functionality provided by the Trinsix Fileserver includes:

File Service:

Windows:
We run Samba 3.0, an open source software package that provides file server on a Unix platform for windows based operating systems.
Macintosh:
We run Netatalk version 2.0, providing AFP 3.x for the best possible file service for Macintoses from a Unix platform.

Mail service:

Qmail-Ldap:
We use qmail as patched with the latest LDAP patches to provide fast, flexible, and secure mail service. This database is easier to manage and more flexible for network administrators, enabling faster updates with less of a disruption to the user.
courier-imap:
We use the courier IMAP and POP services to provide fast standards-compliant access to email. This enables email delivery to various mail clients such as Microsoft Outlook and Mozilla on both PCs and Macs.
TMDA:
The Tagged Message Delivery Agent is available to allow advanced users to generate email with customized "From" addresses to eliminate SPAM.
Virus and SPAM Management:
Virus filtering and SPAM tagging is done on the firewall so that the performance of the file server is not impacted.
SquirrelMail:
We provide web access to email using SquirrelMail. For our users who normally access their email via IMAP, this provides full access to all their email from any location in the world. POP-only mail services are not able to provide this functionality.

Directory service:

All user and configuration information is stored in LDAP on the secure file server and we have an easy-to-use web interface for management by the network administrator.

Backups:

The entire contents of the file server are backed up across the Internet on a nightly basis. Files may be recovered via an easy-to-use web interface so we do not need to charge you for file recoveries.

Remote web access:

Through the Trinsix Firewall, we provide a secure tunnel to a web interface through which files may be downloaded from the Fileserver. If a greater degree of access is required, we can provide VPNs on the Firewall allowing full access to the network remotely.

Trinsix Fileserver Updating:

Security threats are evolving every day. Updates and patches are applied in a timely manner and we check the configuration nightly to protect against erroneous or malicious configuration changes.
